Responsibilities

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of material handling equipment projects. As a Project Manager you will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meeting the highest quality standards while satisfying customer requirements.

  • Documents the baseline for projects and fractionate complex work activities into manageable components.
  • Identifies project resource requirements and coordinates directly and indirectly with company staff to ensure successful completion of the project. Manages costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project deliverables.
  • Performs ongoing review of project status; identifies possible project risks. Recommends and implements risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate.
  • Manages project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary. Notify the management team early of potential technical, schedule, and budget overages or shortfalls.
  • Interfaces with project staff and stakeholders to manage changes to the project, which may involve changes to technical requirements, scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Provides weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reporting on project performance using best practices both internally and externally.
  • Assists with the development and support of local project management group processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Challenges organizational processes that do not contribute to value delivery and illustrate better process alternatives.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to the continuous improvement and evolution of processes, methodologies, and tools within the organization.
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%) to customer sites and project locations as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; Relevant work history or relevant military experience will be considered in lieu of a degree, with PMP certification.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) preferred, but not required for degreed candidates.
  • Process development experience in industrial engineering is a plus.
  • 3-5 years proven experience in project management, preferably in the manufacturing industry with a focus on material handling equipment or conveyor systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
