JOB SUMMARY:
This position manages daily facility operations and provides supervision for housekeeping, maintenance and dietary staff. Responsible for developing and providing training programs on Life Safety Equipment, systems, principles of operations and safety to staff. Establishes effective operational policies and inspection activities for utility and equipment management programs in compliance with company standards to ensure that safety, security quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction is provided.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily.   • Supervises housekeeping, maintenance and dietary staff; schedules, assigns, directs, monitor and evaluate the work of subordinate professionals to ensure proper training on cleanliness, safety, meal planning, effective communication in cooperation with Human Resources and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  •  Drive results for strategic business operations plan by scheduling continuous training on EOC and Life Safety, by keeping accurate record of all drills and exercises
  • Oversees building prep for special events, tours, inspection etc.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure efficient operation of all equipment by keeping all equipment clean, labeled, and in good repair throughout the facility.
  • Perform various inspections of the facility building, grounds and safety equipment to ensure a safe organization according to local, state and federal government regulations and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates removal of all hazardous materials.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the Safety Officer for the facility and chairs the facility’s Environment of Care/Safety Committee; develops and enforces facility- wide safety policies and procedures and directs corrective actions pertaining to safety issues.
  • Research, plan, manages and monitors operating budgets, budget preparation and short/long range planning for outside labor/vendors, deliveries utilities, food, transportation and production supplies for assigned departments.
  • Responsible for keeping the electrical and mechanical systems of the building in good repair by maintaining all fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers and security systems.
  • Provides liaison with contactors, architects, engineers, material and equipment
  • suppliers and accompanies appropriate State and local authorities and regulatory agents during annual inspections and licensing visits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum of a high school diploma with four (4) of more years of experience in maintenance of electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, including air conditioning.

2. Two (2) + years of management experience in a Healthcare industry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Tennessee Driver’s License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the staff person to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must and must also be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50lbs or more. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Works with office equipment, blueprints, specifications, manual reports, all hand and power tools, including, but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder pumps, motor compressors, refrigeration, heating, boilers, electrical plumbing and other wood-working equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The residents/patients in this program are termed “At Risk” youth who have been exposed to either the legal or social service system. During the performance of one’s duties, a staff person may be asked inappropriate questions, displays of socially inappropriate behaviors, the use of profanity and sexually explicit language. Staff persons may be exposed to racial slurs, derogatory comments, sexually suggestive phrases or threats of physical harm from students toward either staff or their families. There will be occasions when staff will be exposed to the elements of nature and may be expected to provide occasional transportation as required by program needs.
