Job description

Wellfound has an opening for a full-time Psychiatrist to join our dynamic inpatient medical team.

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.

We believe in a team approach to care which includes our amazing providers, nurses, mental health technicians and therapy team members.

Position Information

Our providers are responsible for providing high quality, efficient and effective specialized psychiatric care that is evidence based and trauma-informed, in accordance with Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital standards and guidelines, as well as with applicable statutory requirements and accepted clinical practices for the medical profession of psychiatry. An incumbent is engaged in admitting, attending, discharging and consulting on patients following established protocols as determined by Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital medical governance and bylaws. Work includes providing direct patient care that respects the patientโ€™s unique values and needs by examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patientโ€™s total health condition and developing short- and long-term treatment goals and plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and with each patient and/or their care designee(s).

Wellfound is located on the beautiful South Puget Sound in Washington. We are an hour drive away from the beautiful Cascade Mountain range, and Mount Rainier. This area is known for an outdoor lifestyle including boating, biking, hiking, and skiing. Tacoma is the second largest city in Washington state. There is access to concert venues, sports arenas, and a thriving micro-brewery and spectacular wine community.

We offer competitive pay and benefits:
  • Weekend Pay: $1800 per weekend day with productivity required
  • Great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Supplemental Life Insurance eligible the first of the month following 30 days of hire.
  • Employee Assistance Program up on hire
  • 403B with discretionary match for those that participate in the plan and meet work requirements
  • Paid Time Off - You will accrue Paid Sick and Safe Leave at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. Paid Sick leave cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date.
  • Paid Time Off will be accrued based on hours worked and tenure. You will accrue 0.12 hours of PTO per hours worked until you reach the next level of accrual. PTO cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date with the exception of designated Wellfound holidays.
  • Malpractice Insurance
  • CME credit up to $5,000 per year per policy
What We Require Education
  • MD/DO degree from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a residency program in Psychiatry, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association.
Certification
  • Current Washington state medical license.
  • Current valid DEA license
  • BE/BC in Psychiatry: current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry
  • Current Basic Life Support card through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
