The Court Administrator reports to the Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division.

The Court Administrator reports to the Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division.
JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:
- Supervises court coordinators;
- Serves as a liaison with court partners, by regularly meeting with stakeholders and serving on committees at the direction of the Presiding Judge;
- Responsible for timekeeping functions for Office of the Chief Judge staff in the Division;
- Maintains familiarity with the basic court procedures, General Administrative Orders, and Local Court Rules in the Division to be able to answer litigant procedural questions;
- Communicates court schedules, new procedures, and important information to stakeholders on a regular basis;
- Assists the Presiding Judge with Domestic Relations Division programming and grant procurement initiatives;
- Manages the overall operations of the Presiding Judge’s Office by coordinating with the Office of the Chief Judge, Information Services, and Office of the Building;
- In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, hears and resolves grievances, administers discipline, participates in collective and other labor bargaining, and assisting in the preparation of administrative hearings, arbitrations and court proceedings involving Division employees;
- Provides backup for other administrative staff;
- Supports judges, hearing officers, and law clerks as required; and
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctorate preferred; bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required;
- Prior courtroom experience highly preferred;
- Management experience preferred;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively;
- Ability to manage union and non-union employees; and
- Excellent computer and typing skills, including proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk in front of a computer screen for long periods;
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk;
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation;
- Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds;
- Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis;
- Walk short distances; and
- Available to work 100% in person at the Richard J. Daley Center
