Reports to: Finance Director
Job Summary:
The Accountant position will perform various accounting, financial and administrative duties including data processing, reporting and analysis. This position will have main responsibility over the accounts payable function. Additional duties include accounts receivable assistance, inventory review and other financial reporting and reconciliations.
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform Accounts Payable (A/P) duties, including invoice verification, coding, data entry, printing, scanning, and maintenance of physical and electronic records
- Monitor purchase activity including proper GL account coding, project code assignments and Purchase Price Variances (PPV)
- Monthly review of accruals, aging reports, etc. including preparation of necessary communication and/or collections efforts
- Responsible for vendor maintenance, reconciliation and year-end 1099 preparation
- Gather financial and other data, analyze information, identify discrepancies and propose solutions/necessary corrections
- Record keeping/reporting of Fixed Asset purchases
- Assist Finance Director with various transactions, reporting, investigation and other related duties as assigned
- Cross train and provide accounting and clerical support to other accounting team members as a contributing member of the team with the ability to adapt accordingly
- Assist in document retrieval for year-end financial audits
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience as an Accountant (3 years +)
- Previous experience in accounting operations specifically, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Inventory
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems: Microsoft Dynamics GP, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Past experience in manufacturing and/or medical device industry preferred
- Extremely detail-oriented, analytical and precise
- Excellent communication, organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team
- Requires in-office, face to face interaction, collaboration and visual support to organization
- High degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality
