Commercial Construction Project Manager

As a Project Manager specializing in K-12 and/or municipal projects, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the complexities of educational and public-sector construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

   • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets that meet the specific needs and objectives of K-12 schools and municipal facilities.
   • Conduct thorough site assessments and feasibility studies to identify project requirements, constraints, and risks.
   • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, permitting authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits for project implementation.

2. Team Management and Leadership:

   • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary project team, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and support staff, to ensure the successful execution of project goals and objectives.
   • Delegate tasks, set priorities, and provide direction to team members to ensure the timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
   • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and accountability among project team members.

3. Budget and Financial Management:

   • Develop detailed project budgets and cost estimates based on project requirements, scope, and specifications.
   • Monitor project expenses, track costs against budgetary allocations, and implement cost-control measures to optimize project profitability.
   • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.

4. Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management:

   • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and key deliverables.
   • Facilitate regular project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress meetings, and close-out meetings, to communicate project objectives, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
   • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, school administrators, municipal officials, and community stakeholders to foster trust, collaboration, and positive project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience (2 years) as a project manager, with a focus on K-12 and/or municipal projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques relevant to educational and public-sector construction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
• Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and permitting processes for K-12 and municipal construction projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively.
