Job Summary:
Support the warehouse manager in daily functions of Logistics Plus warehouse operations, while primarily leading battery testing operations conducted in the warehouse in support of our large energy client.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives
- Lead Testing, Charging, Discharging, Equalizing High-Capacity Lithium Batteries to OEM specifications
- Utilize and calibrate designated tools and equipment to perform necessary related battery operational functions
- Process, analyze and record test data; troubleshoot unexpected issues
- Identify, isolate, package and organize return or disposal of faulty parts and or product in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations
- Ensure all battery personnel follow operational and safety standards and maintain compliance in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Assist in developing and implementing new operational and safety processes and standards
- Initiate, administer, and assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and associated functions to maintain accurate inventories at all times
- Use WMS system to track data, record product information, and record all product movement
- Issuing, receiving, handling, packaging, and storage of product
- Loading and unloading palletized loads, and transferring product within the warehouse
- Operate sit, stand and reach lifts
- Use handheld scanners to process and complete orders
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Report directly to Warehouse Manager, Corporate Safety and Dangerous Goods (DG)
- Communicate and collaborate with client as necessary
- Coordinate and perform training of designated personnel
- Maintain and Administer Accident and Emergency Response Plans and Procedures
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to understand the context of the tests being performed, analyze, interpret and explain the test results
- Familiar with usage of warehouse and safety facilities for transportation and storage
- Safety mindset with attention to detail
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; ability to operate sit, stand, and reach lifts
- Confident, team-oriented person, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Participate in cross training and continuous skill development
- Must be able to occasionally work weekends and after-hours during peak times (this is rare and advance notice is given)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
Education and Experience:
- Technical knowledge of Electrical Principles and Lithium Battery Chemistry
- Knowledge of NFPA & OSHA standards, DG Transportation regulations
- Experience with batteries and battery testers, and knowledge of Li-ion battery operation and performance including charging, discharging, safety, impedance, aging, cycle life, temperature effects, failure modes, processes and procedures
