JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Superintendent- Low Voltage
VISION OF THE POSITION:
Direction of Low Voltage field operations, the Superintendent maintains highly efficient use of company and outside resources, insuring productive construction operations. Through training and direction, he maintains a high quality standard in operations, as well as insuring strong safety consciousness and performance. The Superintendent drives increased productivity with his direction of continuous field process improvement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for division field performance.
- Manages foremen/ project leaders and allocates division resources (manpower).
- Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
- Problem solving - mitigation
- Responsible for employee disciplinary actions and documentation.
- Directs division field process improvement.
- Enforces APIC policies and procedures
- Accurate time card review and approval.
- Field safety performance and awareness.
- Oversees and directs training of field personnel.
- Enforces APIC quality standards on all projects.
- Maintains knowledge of all project requirements, including construction schedule, manpower projections, project tracking and performance. FORECASTING!
- Maintains knowledge of job cost and cost code (work item) cost performance.
- Coordination with other project superintendents and customer representatives.
JOB STANDARDS
- Demonstrates continuous improvement in field process quality and cost performance. Maintains a high efficiency in the utilization of company resources. Minimizes lost or non-productive time. Helps project future company resource needs.
- Maintains a skilled construction workforce. Reviews construction personnel annually or as assigned by Project Manager.
- Insures APIC quality standards are upheld through regular quality control inspections.
- Insures that all field employment actions are done properly and well documented.
- Leads Field Process Improvement actions.
- Maintains a high level of Field safety consciousness.
- Insures that all Field employees have adequate understanding of the work they are performing. Directs Field-training sessions per process.
- Through training, direction, and other communication, insures that construction operations operate efficiently and profitably.
- Insures that Field personnel meet schedule, cost and technical requirements.
- Reviews job costs regularly and takes prompt action on problem items.
- Represents the company in a professional manner, maintaining good communication with other construction supervisors and owner representatives.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
- Must possess and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Low Voltage construction, Low Voltage blueprints and Low Voltage specifications, as well as of Electrical work items performed by the company.
- Must demonstrate a good knowledge of and the ability to direct Low Voltage construction field operations.
- Must possess and demonstrate a high level of expertise in the required project management related software.
- Must possess problem solving skills.
- Must be able to interact with customers, vendors and fellow employees with a professional demeanor and possess sufficient personal and supervisory skills to function successfully in APIC’s Team Environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
