Trading Specialist

Job Duties

• Responsible for assisting representatives as needed with placing trades for retail brokerage and/or advisory accounts
• Monitoring order flow/trade queues to ensure that trades are forwarded for execution in a timely and efficient manner
• Ability to research (as necessary) and respond to representatives’ trade-related questions
• Allocation of block trades at the end of the trading day
• Review incoming trades to ensure account has shares/funds available or margin capability (and sufficient funds available)
• Daily reconciliation and accounting functions related to the firms’ trading accounts
• Ability to troubleshoot and quickly and easily resolve trade-related issues 
• Monitor alerts throughout the day to quickly resolve trade-related issues
• Review end of day reports for any issues that need to be resolved and work to timely resolve them
• Additional trade-related tasks as necessary

Qualifications

• At least 2 years prior trade desk experience
• Working knowledge of the financial markets (including equities, fixed income, mutual funds and ETFs)
• Knowledge of investment management operations and practices including trading and portfolio accounting systems
• FINRA Series 7 (required), FINRA Series 4 (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Excellent customer service skills
• Familiarity with Pershing’s NetX system (preferred) or ability to learn quickly
• Work with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build relationships internally and externally
• Strong oral and written communication skills
