International Trade Partner

Locations:  Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Tampa or Naples, FL, OH, IL

Salary Range: $165,000 - $310,000+ (Commensurate with location and portable book)

About the Role: We are seeking a sophisticated and entrepreneurial International Trade Partner to join a nationally recognized legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a driven professional to play a pivotal role in advising global clients on the complexities of international trade, investment, and regulatory compliance. We offer a collegial environment that values collaboration and provides the platform necessary to scale your practice across multiple strategic office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foreign Investment: Advise clients on regulatory requirements for U.S. investment and shepherd foreign investors through the CFIUS review process.
  • Import and Customs: Guide U.S. and foreign clients on compliance with U.S. Customs and other regulatory requirements for importing goods.
  • Trade Remedies: Navigate trade preference programs (USMCA, CAFTA, etc.) and apply trade remedies, including AD/CVD and Section 301.
  • Export and Sanctions: Provide expert counsel on EAR, ITAR, and OFAC-administered sanctions.
  • Regulatory Defense: Represent clients before federal regulators regarding investigations, protests, voluntary disclosures, and settlements.
  • Litigation: Utilize trade litigation experience (a significant plus) to defend client interests in contested matters.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction (IL, OH, PA, DC, or FL).
  • Extensive experience in international trade law with a focus on regulatory strategy.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a modest portable book of business.
