Yard Staff

Nelson-Young Lumber Company, a family-owned and operated business with third and fourth-generation family members actively involved in the business is seeking Yard Staff personnel, at our Edgerton, WI location.

Job Duties:

• Load and unload building materials at job sites and at the yard
• Put away delivered building materials
• Help customers locate materials in the yard and help them load their vehicles
• Cut lumber stock for customer orders
• Assist with facility maintenance, including snow removal, mowing, etc.

Equipment Used:

• Forklifts
• Table saws

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting – maximum 1 hour at a time during deliveries
• Walking/Standing – the majority of the day is spent moving about the yard completing various tasks
• Lifting/Carrying (often done on uneven ground) - up to 25 pounds on a regular continuous basis; 25 – 50 pounds on a frequent basis; 50 – 100 pounds on an occasional basis
• Work in an outdoor environment

Qualifications include:

• High school education or equivalent
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Hours: 

• 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday
