Job Description

The Retail Marketing Manager is pivotal in boosting retail success through strategic promotions, distributor partnerships, and exploring new placement opportunities. This role is essential for driving sales, enhancing brand perception with consistent, compelling messaging across all platforms, and deepening customer loyalty. It also strengthens the synergy between sales and marketing teams, ensuring unified efforts and measurable success.

Responsibilities:

Conduit Between Sales & Marketing:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the sales and marketing departments, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of strategies and goals.

  • Facilitate regular strategic meetings to discuss performance metrics, share insights, and align on upcoming campaigns and initiatives.

Strategic Promotion and Partnership Management:

  • Strategically identify and negotiate promotional opportunities with retail and distribution partners, focusing on driving sales and elevating brand visibility.

  • Effectively communicate, identify, and confirm specific promotional opportunities with targeted accounts across each distribution group and customer tier.

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze a comprehensive retail promotions calendar, ensuring alignment with overarching marketing campaigns and corporate objectives.

  • Leverage Acumatica data to assess the effectiveness and ROI of promotions, using detailed metrics such as purchase frequencies, billbacks, and return rates to refine future campaigns.

Training and Brand Advocacy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital and in-person training sessions covering product features, benefits, and selling techniques, aligned with brand standards.

  • Launch and lead the Skout’s Honor Society, a digital training initiative aimed at enhancing consumer and retailer engagement and loyalty. As the primary spokesperson, your leadership will drive the program’s success, creating stronger connections through dynamic and interactive educational experiences.

  • Increase enrollment and active participation in our current retail training programs, using social media and video content to expand reach and engagement.

Sales & Marketing Alignment:

  • Manage and regularly update sales and marketing materials to ensure they reflect the latest products and messaging, staying aligned with market trends and consumer expectations.

  • Manage and refine the brand and product messaging documents to ensure consistency and accuracy across all platforms.

  • Customize marketing assets to cater to specific retail customer needs, contributing to a personalized and effective marketing approach.

Tradeshow and Event Management:

  • Collaborate with the Special Projects team to plan and execute major industry tradeshows such as Global and Super Zoo, with a focus on merchandising the boothand measuring overall performance to continually improve event strategies.

HubSpot and CRM Expertise:

  • Support Customer Service Manager in utilizing HubSpot to enhance customer relationships, streamline sales processes, and support operational and marketing activities.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Expected to travel up to 25% of the time to attend tradeshows, product trainings, and distributor meetings, evaluating effectiveness and collecting actionable insights.

  • Required: CRM experience with a preference for HubSpot expertise.

  • Comfortable with video presentations, demonstrating confidence and clarity, ideal for representing our brand in educational videos.

  • Skilled at leading and conducting training sessions for large groups at retail partner locations, ensuring effective communication and engagement.

  • Dynamic and engaging, ready to become the face of our brand in digital training initiatives, including producing content for social media and video platforms.
