Position Summary:

As a Senior Procurement Agent at Tri-City Electrical Contractors, you'll be at the forefront of sourcing and acquiring crucial goods and services for our company. This role is pivotal in orchestrating strategic procurement strategies that harmonize cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and robust supplier partnerships. The primary aim is to synchronize procurement efforts with Tri-City's overarching objectives, thereby propelling the company towards sustained prosperity in our field.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strategic Sourcing
    • Delve into comprehensive market analyses specific to the electrical construction domain to pinpoint potential suppliers, discern market dynamics, and unveil cost-saving avenues.
    • Formulate and execute sourcing blueprints meticulously crafted to amplify Tri-City's objectives, encompassing supplier categorization, risk evaluation, and streamlined supply chain structuring.
    • Forge collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, deciphering their requisites to prioritize sourcing initiatives effectively.
  • Supplier Management
    • Conduct thorough evaluations of supplier competencies, performance metrics, and contractual adherence to uphold Tri-City's exacting standards.
    • Engage in astute negotiations to secure contracts, delineate terms, and establish pricing frameworks that balance fiscal prudence with uncompromising quality.
    • Nurture enduring liaisons with key suppliers, fostering a culture of mutual enhancement and perpetuating improvement endeavors.
  • Procurement Process Optimization
    • Revamp procurement protocols to enhance operational agility, truncate lead times, and curtail expenditures, all tailored to the nuances of the electrical construction realm. Deploy cutting-edge procurement methodologies, tools, and systems to fortify transparency, regulatory compliance, and analytical prowess.
    • Pioneer initiatives aimed at process automation and digital integration to augment operational efficacy and catalyze sustainable growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Forge strong partnerships with cross-functional units, spanning finance, operations, and logistics, to harmonize procurement endeavors with Tri-City's overarching business imperatives.
    • Dispense adept counsel and support to internal stakeholders on procurement-related intricacies, fostering a collaborative ethos underpinned by mutual accountability.
  • Risk Management
    • Conduct comprehensive risk appraisals across the supply chain spectrum, encompassing geopolitical, financial, and operational contingencies, to fortify Tri-City's resilience. Devise robust contingency blueprints and alternate sourcing frameworks to insulate the company against disruptions and ensure seamless operational continuity.
    • Remain vigilant to market fluctuations and regulatory shifts, preemptively mitigating potential adversities through proactive measures.

Experience and Education:

Required:

  • 7+ years experience in purchasing, ideally with in the electrical construction domain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a cognate discipline.
  • Demonstrable track record in steering strategic procurement initiatives, ideally within the electrical construction domain, ideally in a senior procurement capacity.
  • Exhibit adept negotiation prowess, instrumental in securing favorable outcomes and nurturing enduring supplier partnerships.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, market research, and cost modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems, e-procurement platforms, and spend analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

Preferred:

  • A Master's degree or professional accreditations (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are considered advantageous.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move items a minimum of 25 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods.
  • This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • This job operates in an indoor professional office or job site environment. May work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to various extreme conditions while at various locations.
  • Employees will be exposed to moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic).

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary but equate to 40 hours per week. May be requested to work overtime, nights, and weekends.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
