We take that very seriously – because we care!About the Position: Seeking recovery-minded people who want to work in community mental health. This position is responsible for providing emotional support, advocacy and 24 hour crisis intervention for adults at the Urgent Recovery Center at Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, OK. Recovery Support Specialists are vital members of the behavioral health team. Our URC is a place of stabilization providing an emergency assessment and intensive support for adults experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis; either at the facility or responding to a crisis call in the community. With a goal of resolving the immediate crisis and stabilizing at the lowest level possible, the URC is staffed 24/7/365 with a multidisciplinary team of a prescriber, nurse, licensed behavioral health practitioner, and recovery support specialists with lived experience.

- Senior Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: $38,000.00 ($18.26/hr) plus benefits!
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: $34,500.00 ($16.58/hr) plus benefits!
- Recovery Support Specialist: $30,000.00 ($14.42/hr) plus benefits!
- All shifts have openings
- FLSA Status: Nonexempt
- Sr. Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: This position requires that the application be currently certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, high school diploma or GED, demonstrates personal knowledge in advocacy in recovery, and two years of PRSS experience.
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist: This position requires that the application be currently certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, high school diploma or GED, and demonstrates personal knowledge in advocacy in recovery.
- Recovery Support Specialist: This position requires a high school diploma or GED, demonstrates personal knowledge or advocacy in recovery, and the ability to become a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist.
- Possess a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety.
- Must believe that recovery is possible!
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
