Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

Bazz Houston International is a custom metals manufacturer of Springs, Stampings, Wire Forms, Fourslide, Enclosures, Laser/ Turrets, Assembly & Tooling. With manufacturing facilities in both Southern California & Tijuana Mexico, Bazz Houston offers easy logistics, short lead times, production & inventory cost savings, and minimal import/export costs.

SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates activities of production department to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. The Production Supervisor reports to the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and coordinates activities of Production Control, Four Slide, Punch Press, Coiling, Secondary and Shipping department to effect operational efficiency and economy.
• Interface with other departments within the company such as Technical Sales, Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Facility, Maintenance, and administration to achieve production goals.
• Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget.
• Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing, or trade associations.
• Directs operations changes to be implemented.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College Degree or equivalent; or four to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields
• Must have good decision-making ability and leadership skills. Ability to apply common sense and to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
• Knowledge of production tools and equipment
• Strong leadership qualities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to present information effectively to top management and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: Stand and walk, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach. The employee is frequently required to bend over, lean in, stoop or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift up to 35lbs. Specific vision abilities to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
