Tax Manager
- Full-Time
This role is hybrid and will require a combination of remote and in office work at our HQ- Coral Gables FL location. Will consider remote candidates who meet the necessary qualifications and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax director all necessary schedules for review for tax experts to accurately and timely prepare federal and state income tax return/filings and payments
- Provide tax director all necessary schedules for review in order for tax experts to prepare quarterly/annual tax provisions under ASC 740 and do first review when completed by tax experts
- Prepare or update financial statement tax notes as needed for annual and quarterly financial statements and provide for tax director review
- Assist in ASC 740 first review & initial documentation for tax director review
- Assist in first detail review of state and federal tax returns
- Maintain deferred tax assets and liabilities accounts and schedules/Sch M for tax director review
- Reconcile tax accounts and accruals for income and franchise taxes
- Prepare and file annual franchise tax reports, gross receipt tax filings, etc.
- Prepare annual 1099 and 3921 forms, or equivalents, and file timely
- Assist with federal & state income tax audits, if any
- Maintain Orphan Drug Credit and Research Tax Credit schedules, as needed for tax director review
- Tracking and generating timely responses to notices/audits regarding federal, state, and local tax issues
- Maintain equity related tax schedules
- Ensures SOX compliance for responsible area
- Assist with preparing and managing special tax projects
- 5+ of recent US corporate income tax experience. Experience with ASC 740 is required. Preference will be given to candidates with Big 4 and corporate experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot table and VLOOKUP.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Ability to manage various tasks on tight deadlines.
- Motivated self-starter, with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and analytical skills
