WH Bass, Inc. is currently offering a 10-week internship program. We are looking for college students in their junior or senior year where the chosen candidate will rotate through the various departments in our company. This role is to support functions of our business that include pre-construction, contract administration, project management and field operations. They will assist Bass team members on projects to ensure the project runs smoothly from start to finish. The Intern will help complete the day-to-day tasks involved in planning and implementing a project, like coordinating with vendors, monitoring budget spending and collaborating with others inside and outside of Bass to find resources and more information for a project to keep it on time and within budget.
The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Preconstruction items
- Organizing and checking subs bids and verifying they are captured correctly.
- Work to make sure our subcontractor database clearing up some low risk issues in our database.
- Call on subs to make sure they received the bid invite and if they plan to bid or not.
- Project Management items
- Become proficient with PlanGrid
- Assist with getting the job data consistent across all the projects
- Update POs/WOs and send out
- Help develop scope sheets for the trades to use in both estimating and PM buyout
- Assistant Project Management items
- Verify pictures are uploaded to PG
- Verify safety meetings completed
- Verify daily reports completed
- Update CO log for PM to send to Owner
- Work with Super to update 3 week look ahead
- Update sub tracking log
- Assist PM with warranty
- Contract Admin items
- Ask supers to clear TimberScan
- Follow up on misc invoices
- Follow up on monthly billing
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Ideal candidates will be in their junior or senior year of pursuing a construction management degree
- Proficiency in all Microsoft office products – heavy excel and heavy word experience preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
