Position Summary

This Legal Intern position supports the legal department through research, contract review, and regulatory analysis related to lottery and gaming operations. The intern will assist attorneys by summarizing agreements, identifying key contract terms, preparing comparison charts and abstracts, and helping organize legal and compliance documentation. The role also provides exposure to corporate governance, state and federal gaming laws, litigation support, and commercial agreements involving vendors, retailers, and technology partners.

Additional Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to lottery and gaming regulations, corporate governance, and compliance requirements
  • Assist in reviewing, researching, and summarizing customer lottery contracts, including vendor, retailer, and technology-related agreements
  • Identify, extract, and summarize key contractual provisions, such as term and termination, payment and revenue-sharing, compliance obligations, audit rights, indemnification, limitation of liability, data security, intellectual property, and regulatory approval requirements
  • Prepare contract abstracts, issue-spotting summaries, and comparison charts for use by attorneys and business stakeholders
  • Support the drafting and revision of contract provisions, amendments, and ancillary documents under attorney supervision
  • Assist with monitoring and summarizing state and federal lottery and gaming laws impacting customer and commercial agreements
  • Assist with litigation, disputes, and regulatory matters as needed, including document review and organization
  • Maintain legal files and support contract and matter management systems
Qualifications

Education

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited insitution
  • Must be a currently enrolled, active student pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at an accredited law school
