Job Description
JOB TITLE: Account Associate

DEPARTMENT: Employee Benefits

REPORTS TO: Employee Benefits Operations Director

LOCATION: 3811 Bee Caves Road, Austin, TX


POSITION SUMMARY: The Employee Benefits Account Associate will work closely with the Account Managers and Account Executives on the Employee Benefits team. They will coordinate with clients, carriers, and the team as well as be the first point of contact for our clients with questions or service-related issues with carriers or vendors. The Account Associate will help with benefit renewals and client data management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with account management and the benefit policy marketing process by submitting quotes and creating result spreadsheets.
  • Helps the client with billing reconciliation, meeting compliance obligations, and implementing new compliance protocols.
  • Maintains accurate account information and records it in the client management system (Applied/Epic).
  • Supports implementation and management of Enrollment technology (Employee Navigator).
  • Assists the client with creating materials used for client meetings, including but not limited to benefits guides and summaries, recorded presentations, and the setup of mobile applications.
  • Provides assistance in resolving any client issues surrounding claims resolution, eligibility issues, billing discrepancies, and carrier technology.
  • Uses knowledge of the client’s businesses and benefit plan set-up to assist with administration and answer questions from the client or their employees.
  • Meets regularly with the Employee Benefits team to provide updates and collect relevant data needed to help support new and existing clients.
  • Obtains client census data to assist with the renewal process.
  • Reviews client agreements and documents and makes any edits necessary.
  • Aids the client with their HRIS system administration and ongoing updates.
  • Provides correspondence assistance between the vendor and the client.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Possession and maintenance of Life and Health Insurance license for the state, or willingness to obtain.
  • Proactive participation in continuing education classes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, and multi-function printers.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

  • Starting Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000 (Dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
  • Total Compensation = Pay + Performance Bonus + Benefits
  • Non-Exempt
