Job Description

Come grow with us! We are seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to add to its expanding team.

We are looking for a dedicated servant leader who understands what it takes to inspire and motivate a team and who has a proven track record of success.

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor manages a group of employees in a department to assure the timely and cost effective production of a high quality product. These objectives will be achieved while promoting an environment of employee empowerment, team work, continuous improvement through lean principles, quality, and personal growth and development. They provide support to and act under the guidance of the Director of Operations.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Director of Operations with regular updates and detailed reports on information regarding orders, projects issues. staffing and other activities within the department
Works with the Planning department to coordinate production scheduling and staffing to ensure customer delivery schedules are met
Ensures quality and manufacturing metrics are established (yield & efficiencies).
Identifies training needs and coordinate training for the department; in an organized and strategic fashion assuring flexibility, and maintaining a balanced and smooth product flow
Responsible for identifying staffing needs, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and successful onboarding of new hires in coordination with HR
Leads the process of continuous improvement by means of identifying cost reduction and yield improvement opportunities

• Continually monitors employee and departmental performance to ensure financial metrics are met (optimize efficiency, and minimize variances/discrepancies).
• Manages the payroll, attendance system, and performance standards of direct reports.
• Engages in the early stages of the NPI process for a smooth transition to production; including floor space requirements, staffing, and training.
• Assures the availability of sufficient back up tooling as well as staffing through cross training within and outside of the department to minimize downtime..

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or like field and 5 plus years’ experience in a similar role highly preferred- will substitute a combination of training and 10 years experience in a very similar role for degree

High School diploma /verifiable GED from a state recognized institution required
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated effectiveness as a hands on leader with excellent interpersonal skills
Familiarity with basic office equipment and above average computer skills

• Ability to work in a team environment across all disciplines.
• Effective presentation , facilitation, training skills.
• Must be analytical and problem-solving


PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with lean principles, project management, variances, and statistics preferred


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:
Continually required to stand or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to sit.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
