Job Description

Flip is devoted to delivering full-service global supply chain solutions to our clients most challenging obsolescence problems. Our Authorized distribution model focuses on securing parts that are in short supply and high demand as well as products that are EOL or obsolete. Flip serves multiple market sectors including aerospace and defense, medical, transportation, industrial, and EMS. Flip’s Senior Sales Manager will enjoy the challenge of building and growing a new account base, while servicing existing accounts and growing the overall spend with Flip.

Reporting to the Director of Sales Operations, the Sr. Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for maintaining, developing, and servicing our Aerospace and Defense Customer sales territory from quote to order invoice. The sales territory will include direct customer responsibility as well as collaborative engagements with members of the Aerospace and Defense Field Sales organization to grow sales. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential as the ISR will need to know how to seize opportunities and navigate problems as they arise. With sales growth and a mindset of customer service excellence as the basis, the ability to navigate uncertainty and bring innovative ideas to solve problems is paramount to deliver on individual and organizational expectations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the end-to-end administration of military and government contracts from Bid Stage to Contract Award, including data processing on the government portals and internal ERP systems.
  • Proactively engage sales leads and associative selling opportunities with existing clients who may be experiencing business challenges by presenting innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Review of customer orders so to ensure they are in alignment with the quote, internal/external requirements, T&Cs (freight, net terms, etc.), and quality clauses prior to flow down for order processing.
  • Perform Sales coordination activities, act as a bridge to grow business by working closely between internal and external clients.
  • Managing an assigned territory (book of business), developing, and managing customer strategy to deliver growth across the measured metrics of sales, profitability, and market share.
  • Cultivate and maintain healthy relationships with current and prospective customers in order to increase our market share with them.
  • Collaborate with Sales team regarding conversations with customers that may unlock sales opportunities.
  • Provide post-sales support to customers on order issues/expedites, navigate e-mails to facilitate timely and focused communication all in the effort to deliver customer service excellence.
  • Assist in optimizing revenue at quarter end by working risk backlog, clearing holds, logistics issues, etc.
  • Adhere to the company core values and mission as a guide for daily actions.
  • Perform all other duties as required and directed by management.

 

Minimum Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or other related fields; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Customer Service, Inside Sales or Account Management experience with government contract administration, including aerospace and defense industries, and order processing.
  • Direct experience with understanding contracting regulations, specifically the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Effective interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with government agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Experience in electronics distribution a plus.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal and professionalism skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail to be able to track and report on customer information, leads, and sales progress.
  • High energy level with positive attitude, high level of integrity and strong work ethic with a “get the job done right” mentality.
  • Ability to solve complex administrative and non-technical problems, curious about technology, and savvy with systems.
  • Resourceful and persistent in solving problems in the best interest of Flip Electronics and our customers, collaborating with colleagues and other departments for successful sales outcomes.
  • The ability to understand customer needs by actively listening and asking relevant questions.
  • Efficiently managing your time to meet sales targets and deadlines.
  • Adjusting sales strategies to different customer profiles and market conditions.
