We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Operations to oversee our expansive campus facilities. This critical role involves managing comprehensive facility services within a dynamic university setting, encompassing grounds, mechanical trades, environmental, and custodial services.
As the Director of Facilities Operations, you will lead the strategic and operational management of all academic, administrative, and residential campus buildings. This position is suited for a leader who thrives in maintaining top-level service and efficiency, ensuring that our facilities support the university's educational mission effectively.
- Operational Leadership: Guide and manage the day-to-day operations of all campus facilities, ensuring seamless functioning and superior service delivery.
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of facility operations, including budgeting, capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, and financial reporting.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Spearhead projects focusing on sustainability to enhance efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of campus operations.
- Client Relations: Maintain and enhance client satisfaction through proactive engagement and strategic oversight of facility services.
- Project Management: Direct and coordinate large-scale construction and renovation projects, along with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in facilities management, ideally within a university or comparable campus setting.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge in managing mechanical trades, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in a unionized environment.
- Financial Acumen: Strong capability in managing budgets and financials, with a solid understanding of profit and loss (P&L) statements.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Certifications: A valid driver’s license is required; Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification or related advanced degree is preferred.
