Member Services Rep I

Mon thru Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
PAY $20 to $22 per hour

Position Overview 
The Member Services Representative is responsible for assisting members and providers regarding the Health and Welfare and Pension benefits.

Essential Job Functions
•    Communicate with providers and members regarding health and welfare and pension benefit plan information.
•    Have a complete understanding of and ability to quote medical, dental and prescriptions benefits, Health & Welfare eligibility rules and claim status for members and providers.
•    Verify as current, information on file with the Health and Welfare Fund regarding HMO’s, divorce, dependent information and other personal documents.
•    Assist members in locating contracted providers.
•    Assist members with prescription questions, prescription overrides and approvals.
•    Calculate and extend eligibility coverage for qualified members on disability.
•    Counsel members who come to the Office for assistance with their Health and Welfare and Pension benefits. 
•    Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. 

Qualifications
•    Microsoft Office- Word, Outlook, OnBase, basys, HealthRules, Imagenet and  Cisco
•    Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing 
•    Ability to multi-task while listening to information from members
•    Ability to manage difficult situations, to respond promptly to the needs of the member, solicits feedback to improve services and respond to requests for assistance
•    Have a general understanding of all departments
