We're looking for:

We are looking for a superstar Revenue Manager who will be responsible for conducting appropriate yield management and actively contributing towards revenue generation through direct reservations and distribution channels. The person in this position plays a vital role in the sales and marketing and Revenue Management functions by providing accurate and up-to-date information on both the internal reservation situation and the external climate. This position is located at the Bunkhouse office in Austin.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two (2) years related experience in hotel revenue management
  • Four (4) years related experience in hospitality industry preferred
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar role required
  • Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Window Applications
  • Experience with Opera PMS, OTA Insight, Duetto, and Tripleseat preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace

Job Requirements:

  • Control rooms inventory including allocation and reservations to areas of maximum yield and black-out dates; develop and conduct rooms-based marketing activities.
  • Track and establish pick-up trends, occupancy history and market segment development to facilitate forecasting.
  • Maintain RMS System in conjunction with the Director of Revenue Management.
  • Collate, maintain, and distribute relevant information and data obtained from both existing sources (consultants, economic forecasters) and external sources.
  • Complete Revenue reports in conjunction with Director of Revenue Management.
  • Prepare revenue strategy reports in conjunction with Director of Revenue Management
  • Conduct market research and analysis of opportunity within the broader market.
  • Monitor and evaluate contemporary sales and marketing initiatives and trends.
  • Consider and comment on economic, political, social activity and trends which are likely to influence business outcomes; Report on competitor activity as needed.
  • Work with Director of Revenue in the preparation and management of the department’s budget.
  • Participate in preparation and planning of sales force goals and objectives.
  • Monitor, analyze and report variations from the budget.
  • Assist with the preparation of performance reports.
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, Basecamp, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met.
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction.

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
