Description:

  • The Director of Operations and Security plays a pivotal role in overseeing both the operational and security aspects of BridgePrep Academy schools in Florida. This strategic leadership position is responsible for optimizing operational processes, managing resources, and implementing comprehensive security measures to safeguard the school community and promote a safe learning environment conducive to academic success

  • 85% Ops Staff Retention

  • 100% Projected Enrollment by the first day of school

  • 97.5% Average Daily Attendance

  • 90% new student persistence

  • NSLP program operating in the black

  • Campus safe and operational one week before FDOS

  • 100% of schools compliant in school safety drills and security protocols

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies and initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of BridgePrep Academy schools, aligning with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of facilities management, transportation, food services, technology, and other administrative functions, ensuring seamless delivery of services and adherence to operational standards and policies

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures to mitigate risks, prevent incidents, and respond effectively to emergencies and threats

  • Collaborate with school principals, department heads, and staff to assess security needs, develop action plans, and implement security enhancements tailored to the unique requirements of each school site

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess security posture, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures as needed.

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and community partners to establish effective partnerships, share information, and coordinate responses to security incidents and crisis situations

  • Develop and conduct security awareness training and drills for students, staff, and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and vigilance throughout the school community

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related matters, liaising with central administration, school leadership, and external stakeholders to provide updates, recommendations, and reports on security initiatives and incidents

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management and security leadership, preferably in the education sector, or a related field

  • Demonstrated expertise in security risk assessment, threat analysis, and emergency response planning, with a proven track record of implementing effective security programs and measures

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices governing school operations and security in Florida, including but not limited to school safety legislation and security standards

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
