General Grounds/Landscaping and Maintenance

DEFINITION:

Lake Pleasant RV Park and Green Acres Park are currently hiring a skilled and dedicated General Laborer/ Landscaper for a full-time position. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the parks' grounds, including mowing, hedging, pruning, planting, and other general landscaping duties. As part of the job responsibilities, the applicants will also need to perform minor repairs related to general maintenance and plumbing systems, as and when required. Under the management's direction, the chosen candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of grounds maintenance and gardening duties, ensuring the beautification of common areas throughout the parks and landscaped areas. They will also need to maintain the grounds and other assigned areas to assure a safe, clean, and attractive environment for tenants and campers.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Mow, hedge, trim, and water lawns, fields and other turf grounds; edge walkways; hoe and pull weeds and rake leaves; sweep litter from walks, driveways and other assigned areas.

• Plant, cultivate, prune, spray, fertilize and irrigate flowers, trees, grass, hedges and shrubs; water various grounds areas by hand or by operating the irrigation system as required.

• Perform a variety of grounds maintenance work in the preparation and maintenance for the grounds and surrounding landscape as assigned by the management for maintenance.

• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment such as mowers, hedgers, blowers, sprayers, trucks, backhoes, excavators, tractors, trimmers, chainsaws, shears, trenchers, grinders, and utilize standard gardening hand tools; replace blades and fluids as needed; drive a vehicle to conduct work.

• Assist with installing, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems as assigned; adjust, repair and replace sprinklers; assist with digging holes and trenches.

• Assist with other grounds maintenance and repair activities including tree removal, tree topping, fence repair, general concrete repair and others as requested.

• Load, unload, haul and transport supplies, clippings, debris, materials and equipment as required.

• Assist in the daily collection of trash and recycle in the parks and grounds. Assist in weekly trash collection run in privately owned garbage collection truck.

• Perform general grounds cleanup, including picking up and removing paper, trash, trimmings and debris from grounds areas, parking lots, playgrounds, common areas and other assigned areas; empty waste receptacles; report need for repairs or unsafe conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements outlined below are representative of the essential functions required for this job.

· Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.

· Walking or standing for extended periods of time.

· Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling heavy objects as assigned by position.

· Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching. Ability to lift at waist level up to 70lbs. Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.

· Climbing ladders or/on projects.

· Heavy physical labor.

• Exposure to outdoor seasonal heat, cold or adverse weather conditions.

• Driving company vehicles and equipment

• Exposure to fumes, dust, odors, oil, grease and concrete

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a variety of grounds maintenance and gardening duties in the beautification of assigned grounds and landscaped areas.

• Mow, edge, water, weed, fertilize, rake, and cultivate lawns, flower beds, park common areas, and other landscaped areas.

• Perform various grounds maintenance work in the preparation and maintenance of the surrounding landscape.

• Operate and maintain hand and power tools and other equipment used in grounds maintenance.

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Observe health and safety regulations.
