Overview

As a Power BI Engineer-W2, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI. Your expertise will contribute to the transformation of raw data into actionable insights, driving strategic decision-making within the organization.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize and analyze complex data sets.
Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Implement data modeling best practices to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval for analytics purposes.
Write and optimize DAX queries to extract and manipulate data within Power BI.
Create and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into the Power BI environment.
Troubleshoot and debug Power BI solutions to ensure optimal performance and data accuracy.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports and dashboards.
Provide technical expertise and support for Power BI related issues and inquiries.
Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and functionality to leverage them for improving existing solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging Power BI for business value.
Document best practices, standards, and guidelines for Power BI development and usage within the organization.
Participate in the testing and validation of Power BI solutions to ensure reliability and accuracy.
Contribute to the overall data architecture and data governance initiatives within the organization.
Train and mentor junior team members on Power BI development and best practices.
Assist in the evaluation and selection of appropriate tools and technologies for data visualization and analytics.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Engineer, with expertise in developing complex Power BI solutions.
In-depth knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing DAX queries within Power BI for data analysis.
Experience in designing and implementing ETL processes for data integration.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with business users and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to document technical specifications, best practices, and guidelines.
Knowledge of data governance principles and practices is a plus.
Certifications in Power BI or related technologies is preferred.
Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex data challenges.
