As a part of the Telecare Family, Heritage Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 26-bed hospital
providing acute psychiatric treatment to adults over the age of 18.

Job Summary:
The Director of Rehab Services develops and supervises the therapeutic activity program with the
goal of meeting the individualized recovery needs of members served. Responsible for supervising
the Rehabilitation team and participates as a member of clinical management team.
Hours:
• Full Time; Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

 

 

Salary:
Expected starting wage range is $66,560.00K - $92,540.00K. Telecare applies geographic differen-
tials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location
from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above
the minimum requirements.
What You Bring to the Table (Requirements):
• B.S./B.A. degree in Recreational Therapy
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Recreational Therapist in the state of California.
• Two (2) years of experience working in the rehabilitation inpatient field within behavioral health.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment OR
within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment.
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of accepta-
ble results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, ac-
ceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verifi-
cation.
• Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.
Preferred, not required:
• M.S./M.A. in Recreational Therapy
Required Skills:
• Ability to develop, complete, and maintain accurate records in accordance with Medi-Cal, county,
and organizational standards.
• Ability to conduct and coach others in conducting behavioral health assessments, functional as-
sessments, individualized members served plans, and outcome measures.
• Ability to provide and coach others in providing members served centered, culturally competent
evidence-based treatments.
• Time management and strong organizational skills

 

Physical Demands:
• The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to suc-
cessfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, push, pull, squat, kneel and lift and carry items
weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, bend and do
simple and power grasping.
• The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity and to occasionally drive and be
exposed to uneven walking ground.

 

What You Will Do (Job Responsibilities):
• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and
contact with the internal and external stakeholders.
• Directs and oversees clinical and administrative functioning of Rehabilitation Services
department, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory and contractual
requirements.
• Manages department budget.
• Maintains the activity schedule and works with other departments to integrate Rehabilitation
Services in the facility schedule.
• Promotes and maintains effective relationships and communications within the department and
other departments.
• Participates in company quality initiatives.
• Must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass
assault crisis/crisis prevention training (CPI).
• Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of
management

The Crisis Residential Treatment programs will provide short-term, 24/7 crisis residential services for adults ages 18+ via 16 beds at the Rancho Los Amigos Center, Olive View Center, and LAC + USC Center. Services will help clients in acute psychiatric distress avoid inpatient hospitalization, emergency services, and incarceration; regain their stability in a safe, homelike environment; begin working toward longer-term recovery goals; and establish linkages with stable housing and ongoing treatment.
