You'll work with highly collaborative and innovative, clinical and client management leaders, in increasing our brand in the marketplace. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Solution Architecture to lead our team of solution architects in designing and implementing innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution architecture, technical leadership, and project management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and exceed client expectations.

As a Solution Architect, your primary role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders in Medical Cost Containment to pinpoint areas for business process enhancement and operational cost reduction through technological means. You'll team up with business stakeholders to drive innovation and the implementation of novel products and technology-enabled services in medical cost containment.

Your role entails close collaboration with our sales teams to deliver product presentations and technical architecture to executives. You'll articulate product capabilities and architectural details to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to outline the technology strategy for medical cost containment. This involves crafting product development plans, forecasting budgets, and outlining resource allocations to effectively execute the technology strategy.

Offer technical guidance throughout all stages of product development and commercialization to guarantee technical preparedness. Address any technical hurdles encountered during development, serving as an IT consultant to determine which technologies can best support the business objectives.

Train technical teams on medical cost containment processes and methodologies, ensuring that products align with the employed cost containment strategies. Uphold architecture principles, enterprise standards, and best practices when integrating new technologies. Maintain consistency in the architecture process across all products.

This role may require travel (up to 20%).


Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of solution architects, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the solution architecture team, aligning them with the company's strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the solution architecture team, promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous learning.

Solution Design and Architecture:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and development teams, to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient technology solutions.
  • Define and maintain the overall solution architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's technology and business objectives.
  • Lead the design and architecture of complex solutions, including system integration, data architecture, application design, and infrastructure design.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise across a wide range of technologies, platforms, and domains, including cloud computing, microservices architecture, DevOps, security, and emerging technologies.
  • Stay abreast of payer industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools and methodologies to enhance the company's technical capabilities.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability across projects.

Presentation and Communication:

  • Present product capabilities, architecture, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present analysis and custom solutions to client executives
  • Communicate product roadmaps and technology current state to executives

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, with minimum 8 years in healthcare payer industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technology projects and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture patterns, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong writing and presentation abilities
  • Strong ability to communicate complex findings in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Expert in thinking critically and making informed decisions based on data analysis.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and familiarity with cloud-native architectures.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred.
