Primary Position Objectives
To effectively develop and implement documentation, procedures, systems, programs and tools for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the quality, cost, and lead-time of goods and services provided to customers of the company.

Description of Duties
Tooling
- Set-up & maintenance of new tooling including but not limited to first piece quality submission.
- Alert Supervisor when there is a conflict in scheduling – machine maintenance – tool maintenance on tooling projects.
- Assist in the standardization of tooling component inventory.
- Meet quoted tool / fixture / gage build cost.
- · 100% on time per confirmed schedule.
- Assist as requested in the development of project / tool estimates (quotes).
- Assist in development & implementation of lean projects.
- Assist CSS Managers as requested on all metal stamping and four slides programs.
- Observe CSS processes and give recommendations for improvement.
- Alert Supervisor on updates & corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes / additions.
Lean Initiatives
- Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
Other
- Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
- May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in the Set-up – Trouble shooting and Production of Progressive / / Compound & Secondary tooling.
- Ability to read - understand blue prints as needed for production manufacturing.
- Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in a production environment.
- An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its components (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.).
- Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly
- Experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods.
- Detail & Task driven work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending
- Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from
position-to-position.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
