Musical Theater Teacher

Job description:

Musical Theater Teacher (Children & Teens)

Crescendo Music Studios is a new music and performing arts school opening this September in Glen Park. We're looking for a musical theater teacher to lead our afternoon program for children and teens.

You'll teach three class sessions in one afternoon block, working with students on song repertoire, acting through song, and basic staging, building toward an end-of-semester performance in December. The curriculum is developed collaboratively — we're looking for someone who brings real expertise and wants to help shape a program from its first year.

The studio handles enrollment, scheduling, billing, and the space.

What we're looking for:

  • Solid musical theater background — performance, teaching, or both
  • Experience working with children and teens, and the ability to hold a room
  • Comfortable leading group classes and preparing students for a performance
  • Punctual, reliable and warm with families

Requirements before starting:

  • Live Scan fingerprint clearance
  • California mandated reporter training certificate
  • Completed W-9

Details

  • Location: Glen Park, San Francisco (in-person)
  • Part-time, independent contractor (1099)
  • Flexible scheduling: from 3:30pm to 7pm and weekends (morning or afternoon available)
  • Starting pay: $55/hour
