Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of general maintenance duties which include electrical, mechanical, carpentry, construction in maintenance and repair of equipment for the production floor, warehouse and office area.

Major Responsibilities

• Inspect building, electrical systems, grounds and equipment to ensure safe well-maintained conditions, identify hazards, defects and the need to test, adjust, repair, troubleshoot or by consulting with supervisor for best course of action.
• Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses and various hand tools.
• Basic ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, drawings or oral instructions on a variety of structures related to various projects.
• Assist with installing, set-up, operating, building, moving, loading, unloading and storing supplies, furniture and equipment in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• Prepare, maintain and complete in a timely manner maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance (PM), Inventory tools report.
• Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Performs mechanic skills including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures for the Food Defense Program and the GMP and Glass programs.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of Experience in related field
• Food Manufacturing Experience Preferred
• May require certification in Fire pumps, HVAC and/or Electrical
