Summary:

The Technical Maintenance Technician II provides primary maintenance support to production lines, leads equipment installations and modifications, performs preventive and predictive maintenance, and troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic PLC-based control systems. This is a rotating nightly position from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Requires the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision, train new technicians, and fabricate parts to complete assigned Kaizens. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a proven track record of performance in a manufacturing maintenance environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary maintenance support to production lines and document all work performed in TM's CMMS.
  • Schedule and assign work orders, perform appropriate maintenance on machinery and fabrication, and verify results using TM's CMMS.
  • Lead or actively participate in all equipment installations and modifications on production equipment, including but not limited to installing and performing setup for mass production.
  • Lead and assist in performing preventive and predictive maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Participate in training all new technicians to rapidly improve their skill levels.
  • Effectively manage labor costs and productivity.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and professional communication to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Assist in establishing spare parts quantities and ordering frequencies for all new spare parts.
  • Assist with incoming spare parts inspection to verify usability and dimensional accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining and reworking spare parts.
  • Utilize various machine shop equipment to fabricate and complete assigned Kaizens.
  • Operate the man lift in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality, environmental, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.
  • Function as a member of the First Responder team per the WVSM Manual.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Promptly report any abnormalities of incoming parts or increases in part usage to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Overtime and shift changes may be necessary as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, which include IATF, ISO, TISAX, ISMS, and Safety-related policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to complete and pass the required criteria for Technician II status.
  • Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic understanding of PLC-based controls.
  • High mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to properly troubleshoot issues on most equipment.
  • Able to complete tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Capable of interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and administration skills.
  • High capability of multitasking.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and handheld devices.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of assisting in training others on basic repairs.
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • May need to be certified to drive a forklift and/or man lift.
  • Vocational or technical certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical repair preferred.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office preferred.
