Senior Process Engineer- Fluidized Bed Dehydration 13289

As a process engineer focused on fluidized bed dehydration, you will assist the client in developing the specifications, evaluate vendor equipment, and interface closely with engineering firms to produce a pilot system suitable for fully dehydrating magnesium chloride hexahydrate at temperatures up to 350°C. The final stage of drying will require using hydrogen chloride (HCl) as the drying gas, so this design must accommodate high temperature heat exchange and gas dehydration. Responsibilities will include prototyping of R&D-scale systems to experimentally verify that submitted specifications are accurate, developing requests for quotations, and assessing vendor quotes. Future responsibilities will include evolving pilot designs to full-scale production plants.

Senior Process Engineer Responsibilities

• Develop specifications, process flow diagrams, and drawings for Client’s magnesium chloride drying needs
• Documentation of design, including design reviews, technical documentation, etc.
• Liaise with vendors and/or engineering firms to develop, manufacture and deploy custom equipment as needed
• Think critically to analyze test results and solve challenging engineering problems
• Collaborate to document hazards and develop safety procedures

Senior Process Engineer Required skills and qualifications

• B.SC Chemical Engineering, or masters preferred
• 2+ years of experience
• Domain expertise with fluidized bed drying
• Working knowledge of core engineering principles, including material selection, thermodynamics, fluid/gas dynamics.
• Ability to perform lab-testing to develop necessary vendor specifications to draft requests for quotation
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in small teams
• Proficient in production of process flow diagrams and P&ID drawings
