Labeling Regulatory and Specification Associate

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Labeling, Regulatory, and Supplier Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring food products are accurately labeled and in compliance with all US labeling regulations as mandated by FDA, Customs and USDA. You will support all regulatory-related activities, including but not limited to researching industry updates pertaining to labeling compliance, supporting the review processes for packaging, marketing materials, and digital information.

At the completion of training, this position will be based out of the Canton facility.

Key Accountabilities

• Create, design, modify and update labels per specification and customer requests; review and release incoming labels and packaging material from AX.
• Responsible for completing generic USDA approval paperwork for changes to case labels and packaging material, as well as new product case labels and packaging material that do not require USDA stamped approval.
• Compile all required documentation to submit approvals for new, updated product labels. Work with expeditor to compile required documentation for USDA submission.
• Submit products for Child Nutrition approvals, monitor Child Nutrition approvals expiration dates and reapply as needed.
• Set up product specifications in Trace Gains and AX per new product requests.
• Revamp and improve product education materials, maintaining project records and notes for accurate reference material.
• Keeping innovation pipeline filled through proactive product and process research.
• Lead cross functional teams to determine best outcome for new product development.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree in meat science, food science or related field
• Regulatory experience through work experience or internship desired.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of an organization
• Comfort learning and implementing new software
• Willingness to work in both office and manufacturing environments
• Team player with a desire to continually expand knowledge base and skillset
• Travel between plant locations required.
