Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Director of Information Technology. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our IT department, working closely with business leaders and the Trilon CIO to execute the technology strategy and ensure seamless IT operations. Your experience with IT infrastructure and systems will be crucial in configuring systems and servers, managing cloud environments, overseeing Active Directory domains, optimizing help desk operations, and enhancing end-user experiences. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our business and play a crucial role in shaping the future of technology within our organization.

Are you ready to inspire, engage and deliver? For almost 50 years Waggoner has delivered sound results through a culture of integrity, service and creativity to benefit our clients. Waggoner has more than doubled in size over the last five years and growth is expected to significantly increase through the addition of talented personnel.

What does that mean for you? Waggoner differentiates itself as a leader in growth strategy for water and disaster recovery, as well as providing full engineering services across 19 offices and 6 states; we need people who are inspired for future growth, engage as leaders in their respective fields, and deliver to both internal and external clients.

If you are tired of hearing “we’ve always done it this way”; if you have a work hard/play hard attitude; and if you enjoy working with a vast team of professionals across various disciplines, you will fit right into our culture.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Lead a team of IT professionals in aligning to and executing the technology strategy provided by the Trilon CIO, focusing on operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Lead the successful transition of acquired entities, technology, and processes, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Facilitate the transition to modern, cloud-native tools for collaboration and digital delivery of engineering services, identifying opportunities to eliminate pain points and improve user experiences.
  • Lead efforts to identify and scale innovative uses of technology and data to improve project delivery and create new revenue opportunities.
  • Plan, configure, and modernize IT infrastructure, including servers, systems, and cloud environments, to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Manage Active Directory domains, identity, and access management, ensuring seamless access to resources and maintaining security protocols.
  • Oversee help desk operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and providing exceptional support to end users.
  • Monitor IT performance metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including distributed IT teams, business units, and leadership, to ensure a cohesive and unified approach to IT operations.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our operations and recommending strategic investments.

What you'll need
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of executing the technology strategy provided by the Trilon CIO to drive operational success.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of IT professionals to achieve operational excellence.
  • Proven experience in IT operations, with expertise in configuring networks and servers, modernizing technology infrastructure, moving workloads from on premise to the cloud, administering Active Directory domains, and optimizing help desk operations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL) are a plus.
