Compensation: $105,000 - $145,000 / year

Description

As an Avionics Integration Engineer, you will drive the production and on-vehicle integration of a wide variety of Avionics products. You will design and produce harnessing for flight and ground test applications. You will work closely with Avionics designers, software engineers, structures engineers, propulsion engineers, mission management, and other teams to make exciting programs successful on tight timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Own the overall delivery of avionics hardware to vehicles. This includes owning and standardizing the piece-part BOM, writing work instructions for vehicle integration, and managing schedules and shared resources through build, test, and integration
  • Communicate avionics schedules and plans to other teams during vehicle build pushes. Go to daily or weekly standups, provide updates. Verify avionics team is meeting the needs and schedules of other teams, and triage when necessary
  • Design harnesses and review harness designs for flight, HITL, and test. Help develop a next-generation harness production line
  • Drive avionics production by writing box build instructions, managing technician resources, ensuring production facilities are capable of delivering products, and ensuring products are delivered on time
  • Support integrated vehicle operations, including writing procedures, maintaining vehicle test racks, and being present for major vehicle avionics tests
  • Write procedures for customer payload integration, and support customers when they're on site to integrate their payloads


Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related
  • 3+ years experience driving integration, production, or test activities on spacecraft, rockets, or other related vehicles
  • Proficiency writing work instructions, procedures, and test plans
  • Experience designing or fabricating vehicle harnessing
  • Experience delivering on tight schedules and dynamically responding to new challenges
  • Strong team player with good communications and conflict resolution skills, able to work with a wide range of other teams while under pressure


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related
  • Experience working with any of the following: optics, star trackers, cameras, motors, batteries, harsh-environments harnessing, ethernet switches, large processor boards, antennas, or any other specialized area relevant to spacecraft or rockets
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
