Job description

The avionics technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, inspects, and repairs the electronic systems on aircraft. These systems include navigation, communication, radar, and flight control systems. He or she ensures that these systems function properly and safely, following strict regulations and guidelines. 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Installation: Mounting and connecting avionics equipment, wiring, and components according to schematics and technical diagrams. 

·        Maintenance and Repair: Inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing faulty avionics systems. 

·        Troubleshooting: Diagnosing malfunctions using diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical manuals. 

·        Calibration and Alignment: Ensuring proper alignment and calibration of avionics systems. 

·        Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections. 

·        Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with FAA regulations and industry standards. 

·        Communication: Communicating effectively with other technicians, engineers, and flight crews. 

·        Problem Solving: Using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues. 

Essential Skills:

·        Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of electronics, electrical systems, and avionics systems.

Education and Experience:

·        Certifications: FAA Repairman Certification required. An FAA A&P Certification is preferred.

·        Experience: Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting is essential.
