Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - Materials Handler

Position Overview: The Assistant Project Manager - Materials Handler plays a vital role in managing both our physical inventory and supporting the operational tasks within our company. This position demands strong organizational capabilities, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in multitasking within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in daily operations.
  • Handle the processing of submittals to adhere to the project timeline and contractual agreements.
  • Facilitate and expedite the delivery of materials from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Inspect deliveries to verify the quantity and quality, ensuring compliance with contract specifications.
  • Organize materials within the warehouse and laydown areas efficiently.
  • Manage RFI submissions, coordinating subsequent submittals based on responses received.
  • Coordinate material deliveries with subcontractors and vendors to align with the production schedule.
  • Maintain budget control over material costs, verifying expenses against purchase orders and bid costs.
  • Inventory Management: Supervise warehouse and yard inventory, perform regular checks, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Administrative Duties: Oversee project schedules, subcontractor and vendor coordination, file management, data entry, and record maintenance.
  • Reception and Communication: Welcome visitors, handle incoming calls, manage mail, and ensure effective communication flows.
  • Logistics Support: Assist with shipping and receiving tasks to maintain accurate logs of goods.
  • Financial and Office Management: Manage payroll processing, purchase orders, office supplies, and travel arrangements. Maintain and submit financial documentation such as credit card receipts in compliance with company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle heavy items.
  • Effective communication skills and team cooperation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Forklift certification.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves standing for prolonged periods and exposure to typical warehouse environments.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
