Custodian/Housekeeper

We are currently seeking a Custodian/Housekeeper to work for a large condominium complex in Kaka’ako. Ideal candidate is reliable, dependable, hardworking, takes initiative and a team player.

Schedule:

Friday nights and on-call

Payrate: $16.50/hr.

Job Description:

The Custodian/Housekeeper is responsible for assuring that all common areas, the offices, and staff rooms are clean and orderly. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of environmental cleaning, including cleaning products and chemical safety. Maintains and monitors inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment daily and reports any anticipated shortages of materials and cleaning supplies to assure that inventory is maintained. Assists other staff as directed.

Physical Requirements:

Requires frequent walking, bending, and climbing, lifting, handling, and moving boxes, furniture, equipment, and other materials weighing 50lbs.
Requires climbing stairs and working from a ladder up to 10 feet above the ground.
Require learning all aspects of position and able to fill in for other employees in their absence.
Must follow specific instructions and safety procedures, working to specific and non-specific routines.
Requires reading, writing, math, problem solving, and good oral communication skills.
Effectively communicate with supervisor and other staff members

Essential Job Duties

Dust all television monitors and television equipment
Wipe and clean all glass doors and windows
Vacuum and clean all amenity rooms which includes cleaning all counters, furniture, microwave, sinks and walls (where needed); arranging tables and chairs; emptying trash
Collect/ Empty trash bins around the building
Clean and disinfect dog park
Dust, wipe and arrange furniture in lobby areas, water potted plants
Sweep, dust, and vacuum lobby areas, dust mop and mop where needed
Clean and polish floors as directed
Vacuum all carpet and entry mats throughout the building
Sweep and clean sky lanais
Clean Elevator Tracks
Sweep stairwells and wipe stairwell railings
Sweep parking garage including guest stalls and common areas parking and assigned garage parking level
Living Room - Vacuum, wipe tables, put away and arrange books
Sweep the Loading Zone area
Sweep building roofs, around the outside of the building and adjoining areas assigned
Recreation Deck - Clean the barbeque grill, empty trash bin, and sweep around the deck, clean tables, and furniture
Trash Chutes - wipe and polish trash chute doors and clean trash rooms, trash chute room and recycle room
Vacuum Assigned Floors, wipe and clean fire extinguisher cases and hallway vents
Extract water and clean carpeted areas
Pressure wash parking garage, sidewalks and other areas as directed
Disinfect all bathrooms - spray and wipe bowl and seat cover & sweep or mop the floor
Polish metal doors, metal door handles and doorknobs
Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed
Provide other duties as assigned by Maintenance Chief or General Manager

Working Conditions:

Work indoors under regular conditions; outdoors in all types of weather. May be exposed to toxic chemicals in liquids, cleaning materials, and human waste. Under possible exposure conditions, required to wear appropriate safety and/or protective gear such as safety glasses or goggles, earplugs, gloves etc.

Equipment Used:

Brooms, dusters, dustpans, floor buffers, floor scrubbers, leaf blowers, mops, pressure washer, safety and protective gear, two-way radios, vacuum cleaners, and various equipment including but not limited to water extractor, wet/dry vacuums, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
-High School Diploma or equivalent

-At least 1 year of experience in Maintenance/ Janitorial

-Excellent Customer Service Skills

-Excellent Communication Skills (English)
