Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Medical Officer, the Northern Clinical Manager will be responsible for supervision of the Northern Sites Nursing and Clinical Support staff which are comprised of the Whitefield, Littleton, and Franconia sites. This includes recruitment and retention of staff; day-to-day operations, professional development; and maintaining quality patient care in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards. In coordination with the Southern Clinical Manager this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of clinical support policies and procedures, quality assurance and quality control.

Requirements

Staff Development

  • Work with human resources in recruitment and retention efforts for Northern clinical support and nursing staff, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and separating employment.
  • Ensure that staffing levels and coverage are adequate to meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
  • Assume managerial duties for performance evaluations and maintain systems to provide regular feedback and evaluation for employees.
  • Collaborate with the Southern Clinical Manager to support the professional development of the nursing and clinical support staff, including curriculum development, education methodology, and delivery as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Northern clinical support staff including a demonstrated ability to relate well to others and model all leadership qualities.
  • Perform regular site visits at each of the Northern sites.

Program Planning and Management
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Medical Officer to provide overall direction and guidance for Northern nursing and clinical support staff programs that meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
  • In cooperation with the Senior Leadership Team and Southern Clinical Manager develop, implement, and manage ACHS clinical support policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with the Southern Clinical Manager oversee and control supplies that directly impact patient care, including ordering and updating stock medications, medical supplies and patient care equipment and supplies.
  • In coordination with the Southern Clinical Manager oversee the NH immunization program and work with sites on vaccine management.
  • In cooperation with the Southern clinical manager, oversee the Infection Control Nurse functions for the Northern sites, including review of employee immunization records and equipment sterilization.

Quality Management
  • Manage the quality of care provided by Northern nursing and clinical support staff to ensure our patients receive the highest level of healthcare available.
  • Participate in the 'Continuous Health Improvement (CHI) team, the ACHS clinical quality group that meets regularly to discuss and implement best practices in health care delivery.
  • In coordination with the Southern Clinical Manager participate in the ACHS Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiative.

Clinical Compliance
  • Assure that Northern nursing and other clinical support staff practice within their individual scopes of practice.
  • Participate on the Safety Committee and Clinical Event Subcommittee
  • Participate in or conduct regular meetings with staff to ensure full understanding of and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate as needed in all programs, licensure, and other external audits and in the preparation of action plans and reports to outside entities.
  • Other duties, hours, and ACHS site placement may be assigned.
