Physician Assistant-General Practice Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join our general practice team. In this role, you will work alongside physicians to provide high-quality medical care to patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating common illnesses and injuries, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and counseling patients on preventive healthcare.
The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, including completion of a Physician Assistant program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Previous experience in a general practice setting is preferred but not required. Excellent clinical skills, communication abilities, and a compassionate bedside manner are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive physical exams on patients of all ages
- Diagnosing and treating common illnesses and injuries
- Ordering and interpreting lab tests, x-rays, and other diagnostic studies
- Prescribing medications and other treatments as appropriate
- Providing patient education on preventive healthcare and wellness
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Participating in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current on medical advances and best practices
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA
- State license in Texas as a Physician Assistant
- Strong clinical skills and experience in general practice preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
- Compassionate and empathetic bedside manner
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
