Title: Sr. Engineer 33020
Location: Juncos, PR (100% Onsite Work)
Shift: Administrative, 8hrs | 8:00am to 5:00pm
Duration: Approximately 1 year

Summary:
Independently provides and/or directs the Characterization of Process Optimization strategies and/or Troubleshooting of operational issues in the operations, manufacturing, pilot plant, or capital projects environment. Applies advanced and diverse engineering principles to design and implement major system modifications, experiments, processes, and/or capital projects. Develops, organizes, analyzes, and presents interpretations of results for operational issues or engineering projects of significant scope and complexity.
Educational/Software Requirements:
- Doctorate degree OR Masters degree AND 3 years of Engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering AND 5 years of Engineering experience
- Preferred Qualifications: BS Chemical/Biochemical Engineer or other biological engineering
Key Responsibilities:
- Ongoing manufacturing support, including troubleshooting, nonconformance resolution, and process monitoring using Statistical Process Control methodologies
- Process modeling to guide development activities, identify process implementation issues, and drive optimization
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Profound knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and practices
- Familiarity with biotechnology unit operations and process equipment
- Understanding of cGMPs as applied to biotechnology products
- Proficiency in product filling processes, including Laboratory testing, component preparation process, Formulation Process, and vial or syringe filling
- Experience in process characterization, process validation, and process monitoring
- Basic working knowledge of process equipment design and evaluation expertise
- Familiarity with statistical analysis of data and design of experiment (DOE) approaches
General Functions:
- Complete complex or novel assignments requiring development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures
- Develop engineering policies and procedures affecting multiple organizational units
- Supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers, associates, and/or technicians
- Employ advanced engineering techniques and/or modifications within area of expertise
- Apply engineering principles and practices outside of discipline expertise to a broad variety of assignments in related fields
- Serve as a peer-recognized engineering technology specialist in at least one area
Design Engineering:
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Collaborate with various departments in developing requirements and recommendations for system/facility modifications
- Work with project managers to complete design and engineering projects within schedule, budget, and quality constraints
- Coordinate the work of consultants, architects, and engineering firms on development of standard design documents
- Develop departmental or project budgets encompassing multiple disciplines
