Sr Financial Planning Analyst

Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis will work with senior management and plant-level staff members in varied areas of financial analysis and should demonstrate appropriate understanding and working knowledge of reporting structure, performance metrics, and company processes. The role oversees the analysis of inventory valuation and product costing leading to product and customer pricing and profitability analysis. Additionally, this role will own the tracking, analysis, and reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational results for all four plant facilities. This position will have a strong focus on simplifying and streamlining financial and operational reporting recommending changes as necessary.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, improve, review, and report key performance metrics for sales and operations.
- Prepare weekly production and sales reporting vs. Budget / Forecast
- Prepare monthly analysis of revenue, expense, and balance sheet accounts interpreting results as appropriate.
- Compile ad-hoc reports and participate in special projects as required.
- Assist with monthly cost reviews and budget variance analyses.
- Oversee sales contract tracking, analysis, and reporting
- Support Plant Controllers in monitoring inventory cycle count program
- Support the completion of year-end reporting procedures and annual audits
- Ensure accurate completion and timely dissemination of financial management reports including internal monthly financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly covenant compliance certificate
- Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking, tax, and related reporting of financial data.
- Use logical, deductive or inductive reasoning; identify complex problems and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Demonstrate good communication skills (oral and written), active listening and learning skills, and reading comprehension.
- Proficient knowledge of a Windows-based computer system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) software. Advanced Excel knowledge. Familiarity with additional spreadsheet-based software (Dymanics 365, Power BI) preferred.
- Prior knowledge of, or work experience in food or process manufacturing preferred.
- 5-7 years experience in FP&A, Cost Accounting, or similar roles in a Manufacturing or Food Processing environment preferred
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long durations.
- Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, 10-key, and standard office equipment.
- Able to read numbers and large amounts of data.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, or extended hours as needed.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year, including to the Canadian facility (must be able to obtain a valid passport).
Supervisory Duties:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis will directly supervise the Sales Support Analyst. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Working Conditions:
Normal climate-controlled office environment. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or hours that support four 24/7 facilities.
