Director of Data

Description:

• The Director of Data plays a critical role in advancing BridgePrep Academy’s mission by leading the strategic management and utilization of data to support evidence-based decision-making, promote accountability, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data related to student performance, instructional effectiveness, and operational efficiency to inform policy, practice, and planning initiatives.

Achievement Metrics

• 100% of BPA Schools are compliant in tracking student achievement data with fidelity

• BPA Schools earn an A rating or increase a letter grade

• 100% of schools and organization are compliant with state reporting

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with BPA strategic priorities and goals, establishing clear objectives, priorities, and timelines for data collection, analysis, and reporting activities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data systems, databases, and data repositories to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data assets, complying with relevant privacy and security regulations

• Lead the development and implementation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency, reliability, and usability of data across the organization, promoting data literacy and data-driven decision-making

• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to define data requirements, identify outcomes, and establish data collection protocols to measure progress toward educational objectives and goals

• Provide leadership and guidance to data analysts and other staff responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

• Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and consultants to leverage external data sources, tools, and resources to enhance the organization's data capabilities and analytical capacity

• Serve as a liaison between organizational leadership, school leadership, and external stakeholders to provide data-driven insights, recommendations, and support for strategic planning, policy development, and program evaluation initiatives

• Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in data management, analytics, and technology, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the organization's data capabilities and effectiveness

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

• Proven track record of personally achieving success and of leading others

• Experience working in K-12 education preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technology concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.

• Knowledge of SQL, database management, SharePoint, PHP, C#, and advanced knowledge of Excel are necessary
