SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for comprehensive training programs; conducts compliance audits, inspections and reviews.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.

  • Conducts training to ensure compliance with the Division of Family Services mandated policies; documents training and attendance; monitors training hours and provides reporting on staff hours and attainment of requirements.
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers.
  • Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Attends and participates in jobs.
  • Selects and conducts training sessions utilizing a variety of methods (e.g., classroom setting, online and/or webinars); selects and utilizes appropriate methodology based upon subject matter and audience.
  • Maintains training course catalogs and annual training calendar; updates as required.
  • Assists with the management and administration of the organization’s safety program.
  • Represents the organization with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; AND four (4) years of professional adult training experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of training program administration.
  • Principles and practices of adult education.
  • Administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Planning and assessments of training programs.
  • Applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Principles and techniques of preparing effective written informational or educational materials.
  • Test administration and computer applications related to the work.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Techniques for working with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Skill in:

  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
  • Organizing own work, setting priorities, and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
  • Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Communicating effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

  • Nevada driver’s license.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within six (6) months of date of employment.
