Aliados Health is a network comprised of sixteen community health centers with sites in Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties. Our mission for 30 years has been to improve access to and the quality of care for underserved and uninsured people in our six counties. Aliados Health's major focus is to strengthen the capacity of member health centers (members) to act together as a coalition that provides access to consistently high-quality clinical care, effective care coordination, and reduce health disparities. Aliados Health supports our members in four areas: Policy, Populations Health, Health Informatics, and Access and Equity.

Additionally, Aliados Health serves as a HRSA designated Health Center Controlled Network, which serves an expanded region in Northern California across a thirteen-county region: Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo through projects in Health Information Technology, Analytics and Health Equity.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Adoption and Training Manager, the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Training Specialist is responsible for supporting day-to-day activities around the deployment and administrative functions of Epic EHR system training and support. This position is a member of our Aliados Health (AH) Informatics team that develops, evaluates, and manages integration projects of population health and health technology tools to help support the improvement for the health of the patients, families and communities served by AH health centers. Informatics programs are funded by member fees and grants. This position will support multiple health centers in training and optimization of health center EHRs.

Essential Duties

Program Development and Implementation
  • Participate as a member of the AH Informatics team, supporting the implementation of health information technology tools,
  • Implementation and roll-out of Epic EHR training that supports standardized use and workflows across AH member health centers,
  • Deliver regularly scheduled training to core EHR users
  • Support health center training programs through resource and schedule coordination,
  • In collaboration with EHR Adoption and Training Manager, stay current on EHR system changes and update training sessions and materials as requested,
  • As directed by EHR Adoption and Training Manager, provide resources to health center personnel requesting assistance with health technology questions,
  • Identify and communicate known training gaps to EHR Adoption and Training Manager
  • Assist with documentation of promising practices, tip sheets and workflows as pertain to health technology,
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner with AH, member health centers and key partners,
  • Other responsibilities may be added as the position evolves.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written interpersonal communication skills and adult teaching techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and implement training programs,
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical assistance and technical training,
  • Demonstrated experience with calendar management, responsibility for meeting logistics, producing minutes, and utilizing virtual meeting technology,
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications (MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and management of web-based meetings (e.g. Zoom),
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines,
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task; comfortable with fast-paced work environment,
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with health center and community partners,
  • Exercise good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to identify needs and suggest solutions,
    • Execute, under general supervision, special assignments, and tasks,
    • Discreetly handling confidential issues and documents,
    • Friendly personality and willingness to take on a range of tasks,
    • Demonstrated attention to detail.
Internal Operations
  • Provides input and support to the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Ensures compliance with government health regulations, HIPAA, quality requirements and member service standards.
  • Apply change, risk, and resource management as appropriate.
  • Assist organization as requested, including meetings, committees, and initiatives.
  • Participate in department and organization wide meetings.
External Relations
  • Collaborates with EHR Adoption and Training Manager to develop, monitors, and implements programs to enhance member service, develop skills, and improve scope of service.
  • Attends other meetings, webinars, conference calls, etc. as needed to support department initiatives.
  • Travels to health centers for training and implementation activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree or high school diploma, with minimum 1 years’ training experience,
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience with Electronic Health Records, preference given to Epic experience.
  • Experience within a health care organization, preferably a federally qualified health center,
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Completed training in or experience with instructional design.
  • Experience as an Epic Site Specialist is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of public health and health technology preferred.

Certifications
  • OCHIN Epic certifications (may be obtained while at Aliados Health)
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel; and talk and hear. This job is rated for Light work, requiring the ability to lift or move up to 20 lbs. on occasion. Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading and viewing a computer terminal are required. This position requires occasional travel throughout our member counties and health center-controlled network counties and may require the use of a personal vehicle. Ability to travel as required for meetings or conferences, automobile and valid driver’s license preferred or the ability to get to various work sites.
