Solidworks Draftsman

Job Overview

A Solidworks Draftsman works closely with and supports the Engineering and Sales team to produce full scope, detailed 3-D models based on client specification.

Duties:

• Produce full scope, detailed 3-D models based on rough concepts.
• Work closely with designers/engineers and sales staff to ensure production drawings reflect customer critical requirements.
• Provide complete, detailed and accurate drawings to supplier operations.
• Prepare production information (i.e. drawings and solid models that provide the necessary information for programming, tooling, machining and assembly operations).
• Provide detailed drawings for use in purchasing outsourced product.
• Maintain a library of standard designs, drawings and specifications.
• Work directly with customer’s engineers on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements.
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
• Interface with engineers to give feedback from Production that will enhance future designs.
• Improve how the Production Drafting work is done to eliminate waste and improve the quality of the documentation.
• Photograph finished products & create photographs/cut sheets as applicable.
• Complete work orders, timesheets, and administrative paperwork as required.
• Produce renderings of some designs to be incorporated in sales & marketing literature..

Qualifications:

· 1-3+ years experience in Solidworks software.

· Proficiency in Solidworks 3D modeling & 2D drawing required.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Adobe.

· Effective and clear communications skills. Ability to communicate in a gracious and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.

· Strong organization skills are important and a pre-requisite for this position.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Willingness to work within a small group of peers and accept responsibilities without daily critical oversight.

· Ability to multi-task through various phases of several different projects at one time and see them all through to conclusion.
