Host Scheduling Manager

OVERVIEW

The Host Scheduling Manager is responsible for creating, executing, and maintaining a host schedule, and ensures that ShopHQ’s priority of making the on-air presentation entertaining and profitable in a 24/7 environment is met. The Host Scheduling Manager is also responsible for delivering accurate information to the hosts, managing the coordination and support of hosts, partnering with the Merchandising, TV Sales, Strategy & Analytics, Marketing, Creative, Programming, and Planning departments to escalate and develop solutions to issues as they are identified, managing both internal and external client expectations to meet ShopHQ standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with programming team to maintain 10+ hosts on air and PTO schedule.
• Schedule and coordinate all host off-air responsibilities, including but not limited to promotional shoots, live social media events, guest training, and site meetings.
• Be available nights and weekends as needed to manage through last-minute show and host scheduling changes.
• Collaborate with Line Producers (LPs) to schedule hosts/LPs on the same blocks for best execution.
• Provide recommendations and facilitate training for ongoing development of hosts.
• Coordinate with the VP Broadcast to schedule and conduct show reviews with On-Air Hosts on a regular basis to provide feedback and track improvement.
• Identify opportunities, recommend refinements, and aid in the development of the hosts.
• Assist with on air guest feedback and training.
• Assist in selection and recruitment of host candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3-5 years industry experience.
• Television network experience required.
• Experience working with a multi-faceted scheduling matrix.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Microsoft Suite proficient.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Strong analytical skills (including knowledge and mastery of Excel).

• The Host Scheduling Manager may have the opportunity for various lateral and/or advancement positions on the Calendar Team and in Broadcast Leadership.
