Job Title:  Broadcast Director - WSOC TV

Position Overview

WSOC TV Charlotte is looking for a Broadcast Director who can direct newscasts in a fast-paced, live television environment and be able to oversee all technical aspects of a live broadcast. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate clearly with staff and news management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct live broadcasts using Grass Valley Ignite Automation System
  • Be responsible for all production aspects of broadcasts
  • Effectively direct taped segments in a timely manner
  • PA duties such as Vinten Robotic cameras and teleprompter
  • Studio mics and lighting
  • Non-linear editing on Avid platform
  • Troubleshoot problems with technical knowledge of systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Be cooperative, communicative and lead by example
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous broadcast news experience with knowledge of audio mixing, camera operation, video editing and studio lighting
  • Ability to sit and operate equipment, staying mentally focused, for hours at a time
  • A desire to work in broadcast news production
